I hasten to add that this attitude does not outnumber the loving Thai dog owners many of whom have adopted our dogs.
Jumping Boy has lived in our road since a tiny pup. He loved his owner and went everywhere with him until his owner got evicted by the Govt. He left Jumping Boy at the house and returned every day to feed him. We also looked after him. But he got lonely and moved in with our 4 dogs who live down the road.
A week ago his owner came and dragged Jumping Boy to his Mother's house at the end of the road. He was tied with a thick rope which he chewed through yesterday and ran off smack into a car.
By chance, Thep saw his owner and asked how Jumping Boy was. He was calmly told the dog was hit by a car in the morning. He had no intention of telling us or taking Jumping Boy to the vet. He was going to leave him either to heal himself or die.
Thep immediately got Jumping Boy and took him to our local vet who has no x-ray equipment. He strapped his front leg which was broken and his hip was fractured. This morning he was taken 100ks to our special cases vet.
The x-rays confirmed our local vet's diagnosis. The front leg was broken in 2 places as well as his hip. Not only that, Jumping Boy's blood work showed his liver reading at 2384 when the normal high is 78. His liver was damaged from the accident so he can't be operated on until it's treated and returns to normal.
Fate was on Jumping Boy's side when Thep saw the owner and asked after him. Jumping Boy is now an inpatient and being cared for.
