It isn't and the poor dog's wound isn't healing well.

This is an example of what happens when we try to make the dog's owners take care of their wounded dog. We got a call last week saying their dog has been hit by a vehicle and had an enormous gash in it's chest.
They had transport so we told them to take it to the vet immediately. They did but asked us to come with them. Our Outreach Manager agreed as she wanted to see the wound.
Our vet sewed up this horrific gash and I had my doubts that it would heal well. We visited the dog today to see how it was doing. The owner didn't seem interested which means she probably isn't treating the wound. She may be overwhelmed by the seriousness of it. This is no ordinary wound. If we stand our ground and try to make the owners responsible for treating their dog the outcome may be tragic. Our vet isn't able to do more than he's done as he has no equipment.
If White is to pull through this horrific wound he needs laser treatment at least and probably an operation at most. We will be keeping a close watch on White in case we have to step in.
We realise this isn't a time to be asking for donations but if you can donate something however small to help this poor dog we'd be very grateful. If not please share.
