A week ago our team went searching for him after we received a call. Eventually, he was spotted in the market area, so a team member immediately found and caught him. I have no printable words for the person who dumped this poor young dog after letting him get into such an appalling condition.
Sarcoptic mange which the Thais call wet mange, can be treated easily by natural as well as chemical methods. Whitey must have been suffering for many months to have got into such an appalling state. His legs and feet are swollen, he's in pain all over his body and thankfully the mites haven't affected his eyes. He could have gone blind if we hadn't rescued him. But amazingly he still wags his tail.
Whitey is also suffering from horrible deep bite wounds, where he must have been attacked by dogs after he was dumped. They are badly infected and he's getting antibiotic treatment for them.
Whitey is in a pen at one of our team members' houses and kept separated from her dogs. He's already received his first Dectomax anti-parasite treatment and the vet has given her a prescription shampoo which he needs weekly. With good food and care Whitey has a great chance to recover fully and grow into a beautiful white fluffy dog.
We will keep you updated. If any of you would like to donate to help our care of this sweet horribly abused young dog, please see details below.
